The Vietnamese government have made a pledge to “implement strategies, plans and actions to reduce use of fossil fuels, develop the renewal energy markets, promote green finance, and carbon market in the future.”
Vietnam is looking to become a future leader in offshore wind energy generation tapping into the 3,000km coast line and good wind speeds. Offshore Wind technology could just leapfrog Vietnam into increasing its need for energy capacity through generating cleaner energy.

Further inland, Blue Circle next generation windfarms are already providing clean wind power in rural areas of Vietnam. The company, based out of Singapore, established Dam Nai wind project in Ninh Thuan Province. Working with a local partner TSV invest and development Vietnam, they identified and established a series of turbines. The system is fully automated and to be run by 80% Vietnamese engineers trained by Blue Circle. The windfarm has capacity to generate power for upto 50,000 homes.
Blue Circle identifies, finances, owns and operates renewal energy projects in difficult geographical regions across Asia Pacific. They endeavor to build responsible and sustainable projects and have become a leading renewable energy company in SE Asia. From the success of their Vietnam venture the company is working in partnerships with other global players looking to expand into renewable energy in Asia. Blue Circle have built the largest wind turbine in Asia in partnership with AC Energy (Phillipines based energy company investing in renewables) and GE Renewable Energy.
